Recipe for Chocolate Cake in a airfryer

Today in BiteMyRecipe We have prepared a recipe for chocolate sponge cake in a airfryer, perfect for family celebrations or birthdays.

Chocolate cakes are generally well received all over the world and can be cooked with many different homemade recipes.

The traditional chocolate sponge cake recipe only has egg, flour, oil, yeast and cocoa powder but we have made some modifications.

Our chocolate cake is very fluffy and it does not stay dry when it cools down.

The chocolate cake recipe is easy to make and although it is not very healthy can be adapted to be lower in calories:

🎂 Don't use sugar better a little sweetener

🎂 Change a chocolate yoghurt with sugar for one without sugar (I use the one with + protein from mercadona)

🎂 Use oatmeal mixed with a little almond flour or coconut flour

🎂 The oil you use should be olive oil before sunflower oil

With these changes the chocolate cake will be healthier and you can eat it more often than the traditional recipe.

Even so, you can treat yourself to chocolate cake with sugar and yogurt without a problem, you just should not abuse in quantities and frequency.

We recommend that you try other sweet recipes like chocolate chip cookie recipe, fluffy brownie recipe and air fryer glazed donut recipe.

All recipes are cooked in the airfryer so they are much faster, easier and healthier than traditional recipes.

Tips for a good recipe for chocolate cake in a airfryer

  • When a cake is cooked dry ingredients such as yeast and flour must be sifted so that there are no lumps
  • There are molds for the air fryer like the ones I use or there is also the option of doing it in the air fryer basket itself if it is suitable.
  • You can add a few drops of vanilla or a tablespoon of cocoa powder if you want to increase the flavor
  • When the 30 minutes of cooking in the air fryer is over, if it is not done, lower the temperature to the maximum and let it cook for 5 minutes at a time until it is done
  • If your cake flour already has built-in yeast, you don't need to add more.
  • You can sprinkle sugar on top of the chocolate cake when it cools

Substitution of ingredients

  • Chocolate yogurt ➡️ Sugar-free chocolate yogurt (and with more protein) or a sweetened Greek yogurt
  • Sugar ➡️ Stevia or erythritol (much better than sugar and with less quantity you get the same sweetness)
  • Sponge cake flour ➡️ Oatmeal or almond flour
  • Oil ➡️ Light butter or normal butter
  • Orange zest ➡️ Fresh orange juice
