Tips for a good orange sponge cake recipe in a airfryer

  • The trick to a sponge cake is to whip the egg whites until stiffand not let them go down when you mix it with everything
  • You can use manual whisks or an electric whisk, with which it will take less
  • For a stronger flavor you can add zest of the orange itself
  • In this recipe I have not added it but other times I add a tablespoon of cinnamon powder
  • If the mold is not rubber, don't forget to grease it wellI use this one from amazon and it works great
  • You can use a round pan, a square pan, an aluminum long as it's air fryer safe
  • If the toothpick does not come out clean when the 25 minutes have passed, lower the temperature of the air fryer to the maximum and leave it for 3 minutes at a time until it is cooked
  • You can decorate with pastry cream or split it in half horizontally and bathe it in a syrup

Substitution of ingredients

  • Eggs L ➡️ If your eggs are M or very small, add 3 instead of 2
  • Wheat flour ➡️ Pastry flour with yeast included (add the same amount but do not add yeast separately)
  • Powdered yeast ➡️ Baking powder
  • Sugar ➡️ Stevia (in much smaller amounts), erythritol or other sweeteners such as honey
  • Orange ➡️ You can use its juice, its zest or both depending on the intensity, or replace it with lemon for a lemon cake
