There are many turkey empanada recipes like the turkey and cheese empanada recipe but very few have as much flavor and are as easy to make as these.
I have prepared the recipe for turkey empanadas for Thanksgiving as Leverage recipe with turkey leftover from Thanksgiving.
In addition, I have also cooked them in the air fryer so that I do not have to use the oven or fry them and that way they are much healthier.
for this recipe I recommend that you previously prepare a dough for homemade empanadillas in the air fryer or in the oven although if you don't have any you can use the mini prefabricated dumplings from the supermarket.
The best thing about this recipe for Thanksgiving turkey empanadas in the airfryer is all the traditional flavor that it has thanks to the roasted turkey meat and its juice or broth.
Turkey empanadas are very easy to eat for children and adults and they are perfect to share as a starter or second course.

Ingredients for Air Fryer Thanksgiving Turkey Patties Recipe
Put the butter in a medium skillet over medium-high heat.
Cut the onion, garlic, pepper and tomato into very small pieces and add them to the pan along with a pinch of salt
Let cook for 10 minutes stirring enough so it doesn't stick
Add the cumin and the shredded turkey and mix well with the rest of the ingredients
Add the broth from the roasted turkey along with the vinegar and leave it cooking over low heat for 5 more minutes
Remove it from the heat to cool down a bit and add the dried oregano.
On a tray with baking paper I am putting all the empanadilla tapas
In each empanada I add a little of the turkey stuffing in the center and fold it in half sealing the sides with a fork
Let the empanadas rest for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
Preheat the airfryer for 5 minutes at 200 ยบC
We beat the egg in a bowl and with a brush we bathe the empanadas so that they have a golden touch
We add the empanadas that we can (I have used a grid to have space above and below)
Cook in the air fryer for 25 minutes at 195 ยบC until golden brown
We remove, let cool a little and accompany with gravy sauce

Tips for a good turkey empanadas recipe for Thanksgiving in a airfryer
If you don't have enough aifryer roasted stuffed turkey broth because you've used it for other recipes, you can make up for it with a beef broth.
The vegetables must be very well poached so that it is not noticeable when you bite
There are several ways to close the empanadas, either with a fork, making a fold or with a mold-apparatus used to close empanadas

If you are cooking several empanadas at the same time with a rack, I recommend that you change the top ones for the bottom ones halfway through
Each air fryer may have different cook times for the empanadas so keep an eye on them several times as they go. and if they have browned before the indicated time, you can take them out earlier
I have accompanied the turkey empanadas for Thanksgiving with the Gravy sauce that I also had left over but you can put the sauce you prefer
