Tuna and vegetable cakes recipe in a airfryer

Today in BiteMyRecipe We have prepared a recipe for tuna and vegetable patties in a airfryer that serve as a starter and are delicious!

Tuna cake is a classic recipe that we have adapted to the air fryer and that we serve in individual portions because we find it more convenient at family dinners.

The recipe for tuna and vegetable cakes can be made with the Thermomix (optional) but without an oven, without a microwave and with a airfryer.

The quantities are variable and I have made about 7 cupcakes that I have cooked in one batch in my 5.5 L air fryer.

If yours has less capacity, I recommend that you cook it in 2 batches or that you make a single tuna cake instead of cupcakes.

It is an easy, quick recipe and can be served as a starter at any meal, and children love it.

There are many variants of the recipe for tuna and vegetable cakes, such as the recipe with sliced โ€‹โ€‹bread, with potatoes, with crab sticks...

In this case we wanted to make a quick and easy recipe for tuna and vegetable cupcakes in a airfryer.

We have not added sliced โ€‹โ€‹bread because it already has flour and it would be less healthy, neither does it have prawns or surimi to savor the whole tuna.

  1. Heat a frying pan over medium heat with a splash of olive oil.

  5. Add the wine and let the alcohol evaporate.
  6. Add the flour and baking powder and mix well
  7. Transfer the mixture to a large bowl and add the cans of drained tuna (if they are in olive oil, it does not matter if a little liquid falls out)
  8. In a separate small bowl, beat the egg and egg whites and then add it to the bowl.
  9. Add the salt, black pepper and cheese and finish mixing and integrating everything
  10. In a cupcake mold, spread a little oil and pour the mixture without reaching the top.

Tips for a good recipe for tuna and vegetable patties in a airfryer

  • If you have a Thermomix or a food processor, you can chop and cook the vegetables right there in less time and with less effort.
  • For this type of cupcakes, I recommend chopping with a good food processor rather than a knife (you can even leave the skin of the carrot and zucchini)
  • It is important to let the alcohol in the wine evaporate well (raising the heat in the pan)
  • When you add the flour and yeast lower the temperature or turn off the heat and leave with the residual heat
  • I recommend adding a splash of a can of tuna but only if it is tuna in olive oil
  • It is better to beat the whites and the egg separately to make it easier to mix
  • You can add more spices or change the ones that are already there to suit your personal taste.
  • Don't fill the mold all the way to the top. calculate more or less to free a finger (remember that carrying yeast swells and we don't want it all to come out)

Substitution of ingredients
